November Favourites

No- Crack Hand Cream - My roommate found this one! she was googling for a thick hand cream and came across Dumont Company No-Crack  hand creams. Under locate a store, Restoration Hardware came up as a carrier. The tubs she found at Restoration is nicely designed and looks more expensive than the regular Dumont ones. Sadly we heard that Restorations version is going to be discontinued. We stumbled upon this a bit too late. So if you would like to try this~gotta hurry and find it because they are flying off shelves. You can always still find the Dumont versions on other site tho. Shipping just cost a bit, because the product are heavy.

I like this hand cream lots! I feel that it actually penetrates into my dry hands and moisturizes them from the inside. The cream sinks into the skin fairly quickly and does not leave a greasy film behind. When I handle wet objects after I put on this lotion, it doesn't appear to be as slippery as other creams. My roommate likes it a lot as well. I thinks she even likes it a bit better than me :) On another note~ although I feel that this cream penetrates and sinks into the skin very well, sometimes I feel like I need a little more to hydrate the surface skin area. My room-mate however, doesn't feel this way. It's been hydrating her hands nicely. Anyhow, I would definitely recommend this hand cream! The dryness and tough cracked skins around my nails are healing nicely. I've really been ignoring my body shop almond cream I had in a favorites before too. I just bought 2 more 16 oz tubs! Sweet orange and Lemongrass are the ones we like :) Fresh scent is also nice. Thank You roomy for finding this!

BBW Vanilla Bean Noel - I've been loving this sweet sweet vanilla scent. Although is super sweet in the tube, once it's on the skin it's fades into a lovely soft vanilla bean scent. I've been getting tons of compliments when I have this on. The body splash in this scent is the second body splash from BBW I've ever owned. Honestly I don't think they do much. It doesn't last at all if I spray it on my skin, but I discovered that spraying it into the hair will make it last a long time. The body cream's scent will last almost the whole day on me. anyways~ love the scent! I also still love Twisted Peppermint and my Hemp moisturizers too!

Dior Glow - I've been loving this! I've neglected it for so long~ it's a nice natural pink color on the lips. I been wearing to to work quite a bit. It hydrates, it has a tint of color, it's pretty packaging. love! also, sometimes I wear Revlon's lip butter in Sugar Frosting, which is a sheer pearly pink over it.

Josie Maran Holiday Glow Argan Illuminizer & Argan Color Stick Duo - I picked this up last month. I love that they are both minis. They both have a natural+ mintyish scent to them that I enjoy. The illuminizer is a nice golden liquid. It blends out to a nice golden sheen. The color stick in Petal also blends out nicely. It gives a pinkish natural flush.

Dolly Wink Eye Shadows 01 - On days I'm not using my Naked Palette, I've been reaching for this~ It doesn't even look like it used much of it, but I've been using it on and off since sometime in August~ It's another natural palette I own, but these 4 colors could still create a few good looks. The colors blend out smoothly and are nicely pigmented :)

Tarte Amazonian Blush Exposed - I haven't been using a lot of blush for the past few months. When I did reach for a blush tho, it would be this one~ I call it my nude blush. It gives me the most natural flush. It doesn't last all day, but it last long enough. This past month I've started to use blushes again. I haven't had the urge to reach for another blush at all~

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil

Posted by snowbunnytales at 12:01 AM 0 comments

I finished this up in the beginning of last month. I decided to try Organix Moroccan Argan Oil, because I ended up liking my Organix Cherry Blossom Ginseng. I remember my scalp feeling clean and my hair soft and airy~ it was nice :) This Moroccan one however is totally disappointing. Having Moroccan Oil in it, I was hoping my hair would feel nourished, soft, and silky. It made my hair extremely dry! The conditioner didn't seem to do anything for my hair either :( I used it up, because I didn't want to throw it out. I just had to used more leave in treatments and masked my hair more often. Now I'm using Shiseido Tsubaki. My hair is feeling so much better already :)

Essie Luxeffects Shine of the times - Where have I been? I just saw this~ I'm pretty sure other brands might have something similar too~ but I think I might have to run out and get this! it's sooo pretty~ plus I've been good and haven't bought any nail polishes for months!(I think hahaa~) no I'm pretty sure it's been months!

Pedi-Scrub Foot Buffer

Posted by snowbunnytales at 1:32 AM 0 comments

I saw this at Ulta and decided to try it out~ I have dry and a bit cracked heels. Moisturizing and scrubbing with a pumice stone just isn't enough to heal it. So I just wanted to try it out, Honestly I really didn't have high hopes for it. That's why I'm not that disappointed, because for me it doesn't help get rid of my thick dry heels. But if you feet are in good condition, unlike mine. I think this could actually be a nice foot exfoliator. It can take off mild dry skin just fine. I use it to scrub the top of my feet and around my ankles too~ Those are the areas that feels so soft and smooth afterwards :)

This foot buffer is a sponge that is already packed with moisturizing soap. The bubbles from this are thick and luscious. I used it in my shower stall and I had to make sure I hold on to something so I won't slip and fall. So rinse off your foot well before you switch it to the other.

SASA~free shipping!

Posted by snowbunnytales at 9:20 PM 0 comments

Sasa's deal is on from Nov 15-17, 2011(HK time)! I just placed an order. This deal is perfect for me because what I want from here doesn't reach $75, which is their free shipping limit :) I'm a lil sad tho that they don't have some of the products I want, but their prices of the stuff I bought are cheaper than imomoko (which is another awesome site to buy asian products from.)

Biore Triple Action Astringent - I've been using this for about a month and a half. I wanted a toner that has salicylic acid in it, so I walked around target and decided Biore would be my first try.  It's very refreshing, but not drying. I love the cooling effect! ( so it might not be best for people with sensitive skin, my cooling might turn into your burning?) I think I just like products that gives off these cooling effects hahaa~ The scent is clean and refreshing with a slight alcohol smell (It doesn't bother me tho.) I bought it to use at night, but I find myself reaching for this in the mornings instead of my Paul & Joe toner too~ It's cheap and good and I will keep using it!

Lancome Genifique and Visionnaire. These two products have been making my face glow~ I never gave Lancome the time of day before, but I'm really loving these! I've had Visionnaire for about a month and three weeks. I've notice my skin smoother and the pores less visible. Now I only use 2 pumps of Visionnaire at night for my entire face and neck. I got Genefique on Genes Day. I've been using this one in the morning after toning. I feel like it hydrates without the stickiness. My skin drinks it right up (it's either that or the product drys up really quickly hahaa) I like it so far and my parents also uses it. My dad was actually the one who recommended it :) It's perfect for countries with weather like Thailand. I really hope the flooding situation in Thailand ends soon :(

I bought these Hemp Moisturizers at the beginning of September. God knows why I got 2 bottles~ I've never even used it before, but they were having a buy 2 get one free deal. I like it! I would say it feels a lot better on than my Bath and Body Works moisturizers~ but BBW still wins in terms of scent :) I rotate using my moisturizers and sometimes I'll layer them :) Hemp also make my skin feel good. I really like their formula here. I heard that a lot of people like the original formula scent, but it was a bit too much fruity or bananay for me.

Tsubaki Water (Damage Care) - My friend picked this up for me during one of her flights to Japan this past July. You Can definately find them here in the states tho. I just bought a backup for myself from Ichbankan for around $16.99. I've also seen them in Nijiya and Mitsuwa markets, or even online. Tsubaki water is a leave-in hair treatment that contains tsubaki ( camellia ) oil extract. I spritz in my hair before I blow dry in the mornings and sometimes I spitz some more on before I go to bed.

I've had Burt's Bees tinted lip balms for over 2 months now and I have to say they are awesome. They kind of smell like old school sun screen to me tho haha~ but I love the texture and I love the color. It gives a good sheer color payoff, but it's still looks natural. I prefer Tiger Lily a bit more, but I still reach for both! I have soo many lip balms > <

jlist & Sephora F&F haul~

Posted by snowbunnytales at 12:39 AM 0 comments

(Popin' Cookin' DIY Sushi Candy, Kracie Neru Neru Nerune: Muscat)
(Deco Bento Furikake 5 Colors: Salmon, Popin' Cookin' Ramen & Dumpling Candy)

I ordered a few snacks from jlist coz I really wanted to play with these candies! This was only half of what I ordered tho. They ran out of products, so I told them to cancel the rest. I still want the other candies tho! These are so fun! Maybe I'll try to film a vid while making these~

and here's what I recently picked up from the Sephora Friends &Family Sale~

I've been wanting to try out some Caudalie products, so I pick those up.

Lancome Visionnaire is working great for me, so I pick up one for myself and another for my mom to try out.

Then lastly I decided to pick up Benefit's Powderflage again. I still don't think Powderflage is an amazing product, but I really like using it. I use it to set my under eye concealer. I can't use it alone, because it does absolutely nothing, but for setting the concealer its great. It brightens a tiny bit and it doesn't set into my fine lines and it stays on all day.
I bought Bare Minerals Well Rested to try out a while back. That one really brightens and conceals nicely, but it settles into my fine lines and it starts to fade throughout the day. I end up with patches of undereye concealer. I aslo think Well Rested looks fake and too bright on me. In person it looks alright, but in photos I could really see the difference :( Anyways, that's why I'm picking up another Powderflage. I like it and I think Benefit is also discontinuing it. This way I'll have something to use until I find another brand I like ~

Have you picked up anything new and awesome lately?

Mont Blanc Cake~

Posted by snowbunnytales at 5:47 PM 0 comments

Mont Blanc is a chestnuts cream cake. LOVE! It's one of my all time favourite dessert. I first had it when I went to Japan. It seems it's quite popular in Japan and they sure do make em yummy~ I think it's perfect for fall. I'm really craving for some right now, but I haven't seen any in SF. Maybe I'll have to find a recipe and try to make it ;) Oh Mont Blanc...how I miss you right now!

Candle Obsessed!

Posted by snowbunnytales at 7:59 PM 0 comments
I'm going to do mini quick thoughts on the candles I got from Slatkin & Co. I'm a horrible scent describer though~ So I don't know if my thoughts on them will help that much. But I try :)

This post will be on going, because I haven't burned enough of some candles yet. I have definitely been loving the 3mini candles for $5 tho. I get to try more scents and if I love it I can go back and get the 14.5 oz :) Everybody's nose is different. What I like you might not. What you like I might not. I usually like warm bakery scents. Scents that makes me feel warm and cozy, therefore most of the scents I get are usually from the fall/winter collections. I do try and like some of the spring/summer scents tho :)

I haven't experiences any bad 3 wicked candles yet and knock on wood, hopefully I'll never have to, but if you do run into that problem, don't hesitate to take it back. I discovered that bbw has a great return/exchange policy. All the candles I've tried so far burned clean to the bottom :)

So here are my thoughts!

Winter Garland - This is my go to christmas scent. It smells like a christmas wreath or tree with a hint of berry. The throw is pretty strong and not over powering. love it.

Caramel Apple - Sweet apple and caramel scent. I think they got it pretty much right. I smells kind of like when I stirring together apples and brown sugar together on the stove. yum! I'm ok with this scent. I probably won't be purchasing a full size product.

Leaves - Sweet cinnamony apple spicy fall scent. I doesn't smell like leaves on the ground though. the throw is quite strong on this one, but I love it anyways~

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts - This one smells almost like horchata to me. I haven't had horchata in awhile, but it definitely reminded me of that. It's a sweet vanillay cinnamon scent. The scent throw is on the lighter side, but sometimes that nice too. I enjoyed this scent.

Lavender Macaroon - Warm vanilla bakery plus a relaxing lavender scent. I love the cold throw, but it gives me a really bad headache when I light it up. I couldn't even finish burning a mini :( so sad

Apple Crumble - I did not like the cold throw of this one, but I picked  it up anyways and to my surprise. I liked it. This one kind of reminded me of leaves, but less strong and less spices. It does smell more like green apple too I think, so maybe thats why it's not as sweet to me. It smells like a fall scent, but I'm not sure if it actually smells like the dessert.

Hot Chocolate - I didn't like the cold throw of this one either. Although all the sales rep said it smells exactly like a cup of hot chocolate, I disagree. When I lit it though, it smells so much better~ It smells like instant hot chocolate mix from the market, which I thought was pretty good, better than any other chocolate scents I've tried.

Dark Chocolate Mint - This one compared to the Hot Chocolate one WINS. It smells like chocolate frosting to me~yum. I only got the mini and the throw wasn't as strong, but I'm thinking a full size one will be stronger. I like this one. It's more Chocolate than mint, which I'm happy happy.

Mint Chocolate - When I got this, I think I got for the color than the scent. It was only ok to me, because sometimes it hurt my throat when burning it. The cold throw was very similar to the real thing. It's when burning that the scent changes a bit. Plus no one ever complimented on this scent. Everyone said it smells weird.

Cranberry Woods - Very strong warm woodsy, but very berry scent. I like it, a little strong though. I can't burn it too long, because it ends up giving me headaches sometimes.

Frosted Cupcake - Vanilla Frosting scent! I like this one too~ except sometimes the scent of the burning wick overpowers the scent of the candle, which is not cool :(  It's not that strong of a scent, but you can still really smell it in a large room.

Homemade Cookies - This has a very similar scent to Frosted Cupcake, but has a warmer feel to it. The sweet in it is not as sharp. But this also has that overpowering wick burning scent I think.

Hot Buttered Rum - Very sweet caramel rum scent. Has a pretty strong throw. It ended up being a little too sweet for me and hurt my throat too, so didn't enjoy it that much.

Winter - It's like a cold breeze, but a warm comfy feeling at the same time. trees, spice, wood and maybe some vanilla? I like it. I think they are many similar scents out the on the market, but out of the many I've tried, this one is the best.

Spiced Madeleine - Smells sweet, spicy, warm, vanillay. The cold throw is ok. I hate it when it's burning tho. It's a mixture of al ot of scents and I can't stand it. It smells like a yankee candle store, which I hate.

Cranberry Peach Bellini - Sweet, fresh, tangy berries. I like it. It could be a year round scent. The throw is pretty good, not too light, not too strong. I think its a good mixture of pears and cranberry? because it I had to pin point a fruit scent, I think I might have said some kind of punch.

Salty Caramel - smells exactly like a bucket of caramel popcorn~ smells so good I want to eat it, but I kind of don't want my room smelling like it.

Gingerbread

Caribbean Escape

Pomegranate Lemonade

Pumpkin Caramel Latte - I don't really smell pumpkin in this. AllI smell is sweet caramel and maybe vanilla with a splash of spice.

Winter Cabin

Spiced Apple Toddy

Marshmellow Peppermint - The cold Throw smelled like sweet minty toothpaste or play doe to me. I didn't like the cold throw, but when burning, it smelled kinda nice, something sweet and sugary with barely there mint scent.

Cranberry Cider

Candied Sugar Plum - Smells like a candy I ate as a child, but I can't figure out which one. I do like this one though. I think you might have to go sniff it.

Winter Wonderland

Autumn - Smells like Winter Garland without the berries. This one is very light, but I like it. Smells like fall air and pine trees to me

S'mores - Does not smell like S'mores to me. But it's sweet, warm, a bit musky, and you can smell a bakery element. I enjoyed burning it. the throw was pretty strong.

Twisted Peppermint! Apple Wreath!

Posted by snowbunnytales at 6:15 PM 0 comments

Are you a fan of Bath & Body Works Twisted Peppermint? I am~ I like it a a lot. It smells like candy canes~ Plus i love the little cool tingly the peppermint gives after a warm shower~

I went into the store today and I see that all the holiday scents are out, but Twisted Peppermint was no where to be seen! They told me that this scent is only going to be available during the first week of December only~ Not cool! >< So I just went ahead and ordered online because it was the last day for buy three get three free. I had a $10 off coupon and that kinda covered the shipping cost. BBW always has some kind of offer going on, so don't forget to check! It would've been an awesome deal if shipping was free > <

I'll let you know if this info changes. And they do carry the lip gloss and hand sanitizers in stores. just not the body care items yet.

oh! and..
Has any one tried Apple Wreath?? I LOOOOVE this scent. I bought a bottle last year and its the perfect holiday scent for me. It smells like apples and christmas tree! yay! so nice~

I really recommend going to take a sniff. Our noses are different so you might disagree, but you never know~ sniff sniff! you might have to look a bit, some stores didn't have it in my area, but they did have the hand sanitizer, which I think is new this year? It did smell a bit different from the hand soap. The scent was a lot lighter and more alcoholy?

I don't think they promoted that much last year. I always saw this  in a bottom corner with Winter Cranberry ( which is also nice) and think a something Ginger??? (I could be totally wrong on this last one. I don't think they brought it back this year) But I am happy they brought Apple Wreath back! I just got a bottle for myself and a bottle for mi mama~ and some other scents too :)

has any one tried these? what are your thought?
see ya!
